Happy Valentines Day!

I took today off to go to Miss K's school to help out. I had so much fun with the kids. She really has such a nice class! I helped them decorate their Valentine Mailboxes. Miss K really loves it when I come to class. I know it upsets her that I can't come every week like some Mom's. :(

H and Miss K woke me up this morning with a shiny red box. Inside was a beautiful necklace. Totally caught me by surprise since we usually only exchange cards for Valentine's Day.

After I left her class, I went food shopping and came home and scrubbed the bathroom. Fun afternoon but it is so much easier doing that when Miss K isn't home. Just get it done a lot quicker without tons of interruptions!

Since I was off I cooked H's favorite, my Tastefully Simple flank steak, bean pot potatoes and a salad. I cut up fresh strawberries for dessert with Cool Whip. (I joined WW again so I had to keep the dessert low cal!) Dinner was YUMMY!

Now he left for bowling, Miss K is asleep and I'm on the puter.

It was a great day though.

Where did January go?

I can't believe January is almost gone! I feel like I blinked and it disappeared. Every weekend its been something. Last weekend was fun. My BIL and SIL made it official and got married on Sunday. A nice private ceremony and dinner afterwards at our family's favorite restaurant. Somehow the bride and groom were sat next to the kids (Miss K, Miss A, and Miss B) while the parents sat down the way other end. How sad is it that the children were better behaved then the parents. They sat down and colored and played nicely together. We on the other hand, were loud, VERY LOUD. We had so many laughs though. It was a great day and I'm so happy that R is now officially my SIL!!

This weekend H and I have a date! Miss K is sleeping over Mrs. D and Miss J's house on Saturday night. H made reservations for us at the new Melting Pot that opened up. I can't wait! I LOVE FONDUE! We haven't been out as just H & S in a while. (Usually its Miss K's Mom and Dad.) Don't get me wrong, I love my daughter to the ends of the earth but its nice to just worry about what I'm eating and not what she wants, did she eat, how much did she eat, etc.

Miss K is doing really well at "reading". When she tries, she does even better. I can tell you I now know why I am not a teacher! Can you say NO PATIENCE! But I am very impressed with her. Her writing has improved by leaps and bounds since September and her coloring is almost better then mine. LOL She is still loving school.

And just wanted to say Congrats to the Big Blue for making the Super Bowl. You made my hubby one happy man. (Sorry to all the Packer and Cowboys fans out there!) Now if they can just take down those darn Patriots!!

Its been a while

WOW, the holidays sure kept us running!! December is a blur. But we had a wonderful time during the holidays. H and I were off from work for 11 days with Miss K. Although I got a stomach bug the Sunday before Christmas and then had a really bad time with my asthma the few days after Christmas, it was great. We re-organized Miss K's room, bought a bin organizer for her closet, and organized our room a bit more. We spent time with family and friends and spent a lot of time playing games. I bought Miss K Trouble for Christmas as that was my all time favorite game as a kid. We've played at least one or two games every day since Christmas I think. (And H and I have actually played a few games while Miss K has been sleeping LOL!)

We spent Christmas Eve with H's family, Christmas Day with mine. It is so nice to see everyone and Miss K had a BALL with everyone and loved all her gifts. New Year's Eve is a big family night for H's family, so we spent it at his Aunt's house. Miss K made it until about 2 am before she looked at me with these sad eyes and said Mommy I want to go home! We spent New Year's Day at home, playing games and getting take out!

Had to go back to school and work last week. Miss K couldn't wait to go back. I hope she keeps this love for school past Kindergarten! I, on the other hand, would have been perfectly happy to win the lotto during my time off and not have to go back to work but alas that did not happen.

Oh and that second loose bottom tooth finally fell out of her mouth. So the tooth fairy and Santa came a night apart!

Hopefully life will calm down a bit for us so maybe I can get better at this bloggin thingy!

Bye Bye Baby Tooth

Well Miss K lost her first baby tooth today. She's had her two bottom ones loose since Halloween and the new teeth are already out but the first one FINALLY fell out!!!

She was brushing her teeth this morning and ran in to show me the tooth she spit out with her toothpaste. Here's a picture but its hard to tell because her permanent tooth has already grown in so much!



The tooth fairy came tonight and she'll be happy to see a $5 bill and a gold dollar coin. (This won't be a habit with all her teeth mind you, only the first one.) Her dentist gave us two gold dollar coins, one for each tooth that was loose and I've been carrying them around since Halloween!

Hello!

Well its been a bit crazy since coming back from vacation!!! Dad went to the ER on the 1st for falling off the roof while cleaning the gutters, Miss K had yet another bout of pneumonia, and Mom had oral surgery!

After almost a week of nebulizer treatments and visits to the dr Miss K is finally feeling better and went back to school today. She was so happy to be back. Poor kid really missed her class.

I forgot to mention Miss K was the student of the month for October! We are very, very proud of her. I got a magnet type bumper thing that says My child was Student of the Month . . . . She loves seeing it on my truck.

Miss K had her first bit of Christmas this weekend at my girlfriends holiday get together. This year it was at Mrs.T's house. Very yummy dinner and great company. And of course Miss K, Miss J, and Miss J were spoiled!!

Only 14 days until Christmas! I can't believe it. We're about 3/4 done with our shopping. Hopefully will finish this weekend!!

Home from Vacation

We got home today from Orlando. We had a great week thanks to Mom and Dad!!! We spent the beginning of the week visiting Mickey and Disney and Shamu and Sea World then the rest of the week catching up with family and friends. Its nice to be home and Mr. O really missed us but was well cared for while we were gone.

The weather was perfect 70-80 with no humidity. We surprised Miss K with lunch in Cinderella's Castle with the princesses. It was great. H & I were pleasantly surprised with how good the food actually was. K got to see Mary Poppins, Belle, Sleeping Beauty, and Jasmine and of course was greeted by Cinderella. We loved it.

Back to work on Monday but only 4 weeks and we're off for the holidays!!!
